I began a new job on 9/1/08 after a year of being out of work.  I love the job and especially the people.  During that year without work, I lost my car, lived on food stamps and public health in order to survive.  The feeling from that year of great uncertainty is still with me.  I don’t seem to be able to shake it, like it is going to happen again any day.  Any directions / projects / focus for the coming year would be appreciated.

Putting astrology to the side for the moment, let’s talk about the fear, which is something that a lot of us are going through just now due to the economy. The uncertainty that is still with you from the terrible year you had, I have experienced this too, and it does kind of follow one and hangs around like a dim cloud.

The only remedy for it that I have found is to face it down and to look right at it – face to face. And I don’t mean face it once and walk on. As you know, it does not work like that. You have to face it every minute of every hour each time it rears its ugly head. It is not different than an alcohol problem or any other kind of addiction, it does not just automatically go away once it has a grip on you. Taking it a day at a time and being willing to stop what else you are doing and look at it clearly, taking a small step at a time, usually helps.

Fear is manageable if it is not allowed to accumulate, if you don’t give in to it or try to escape it. Anyway, the way I deal with it is face-to-face and minute by minute.

Now for a little astrology: this is not a retiring time for you, but a time to progress and push on. This is not a time to drop back or turn away. Transiting Saturn is rising in your chart toward the Midheaven, and this traditionally is a time to build a career, and secure a job.
